Types of Garages
Either you are running a business or managing small projects in your house, garages could be a good addition to your project. Garages are small structures that are meant for technical works, storage, maintenance activities or stationing vehicles. Depending on the types of the garages, they can be divided into three categories which are mentioned below:
Attached garages: These garages are attached to the owner’s house, as the name itself explains. Attached garages are good option when you are living in an area where climate gets harsh often. If it is extremely cold, snowing or heavy rainfall, you don’t need to walk a distance to your garage for your car or vehicle as the garage is just attached to your home. Attached garages often have entrance from inside the house.
Detached garages: These garages are located at a distance from the house with no attachment or connection in between. If the owner doesn’t have enough space attached to the house or they want to build large garages that could be merely built at a distance from the house, they opt for detached garages. Although, these garages might require traveling a distance and which could be perhaps an issue especially if the weather is not friendly.
Breezeway garages: These garages are somewhat attached and somewhat detached garages. They are located at a distance from the house, although, with a pathway connected to the house along with a roof throughout the path. Such garages could be better managed in unfriendly weathers.
Material
Garages could be made up of many materials, which are mentioned below.
Bricks: Traditionally (and to some extent in the modern era), brick made garages were common, although they were expensive to build, use to corrode and were incapable of being shifted from one place to another, which decreased their popularity.
Wood: Wooden garages were also very common and are still used. They are made up of fine quality wood mainly timber, although, no matter what quality the wood is, termites and mildew do attack them, hence they require a huge expense on preservatives that are applied to them for protection.
Steel: Steel made garages are the best when it comes to face harsh weather. They are strong and sturdier and above all, cheaper as compared to garages made up of bricks and wood.
Where to buy: There are many multinational companies that sell such garages on cheaper prices and one of those companies is Capital Steel Buildings.
